Buying Guide & Selection

Which rims are the best visual and technical fit for your vehicle? Our buying guide helps you choose the right rim design, size, color, and style, and explains what to look for when purchasing alloy rims, tires, and complete wheels.

What is the difference between a wheel rim and a complete wheel?

A rim is simply the wheel without a tire. A complete wheel is a rim with a tire already mounted and balanced—ready to be installed on the vehicle.

With so many options to choose from, how do I find the right rim?

Use the Wheel Advisor—it will guide you through five steps to find the right models for your vehicle.

Do you also sell used rims or seconds?

No. We carry only new merchandise sourced directly from the manufacturer.

Expert Opinions, Registration & Law

In this category, we answer important questions about ABE, ECE approval, parts certificates, and TÜV registration for rims and complete wheels. You’ll learn which documents you need, when registration is required, and what legal requirements you must follow when using new wheels.

Tires & TPMS

In this FAQ category, you’ll find answers about summer tires, winter tires, all-season tires, and tire sizes. We’ll also explain everything you need to know about the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), compatible sensors, programming, and pairing with your vehicle.

Do I need TPMS sensors for my new wheels?

Only if your vehicle has a direct (active) tire pressure monitoring system. With an indirect (passive) system, no additional sensors are required.

Have the TPMS sensors already been installed and programmed?

Yes—we install the sensors before the tires are mounted and pre-program them for your specific vehicle. All you have to do is pair the sensors with the vehicle.

How do I add TPMS sensors to my order?

For complete wheels, compatible sensors are automatically suggested in the shopping cart. For individual rims, please indicate there that you would like TPMS. If we are certain that your car is not equipped with an active TPMS system, you will not be shown any options for selecting sensors.

Can I reorder TPMS sensors?

Yes, if you've already placed an order for rims or complete wheels with us, you can purchase the necessary sensors separately.

What is the difference between TPMS and TPMS?

Both terms mean the same thing: RDKS is the German abbreviation for "Reifendruckkontrollsystem," and TPMS is the English term ("Tire Pressure Monitoring System").

What tire quality is right for me? (Budget to Premium Plus)

We categorize tires into six segments—from Budget (basic, affordable) to Premium Plus (high-performance). Generally, the higher the segment, the better the traction, braking distance, mileage, and comfort—but at a higher price.

How old can my new tires be when they're delivered?

We supply brand-new tires. [PLEASE CHECK: Specify a definitive statement—the original texts sometimes stated “max. 3 years” and other times “also DOT 3–5 years, like new.”]

What should I do if a complete bike is delivered without adhesive weights?

Check to see if there is a yellow "OK" mark on the tire. If there is, your wheel will spin perfectly smoothly without any weights.
